MS Flight Sim X Steam Version

So, joined Steam and downloaded Microsoft Flight Simulator X ($4.99 plus tax and 10 hours to download) because it read like it was going to be “better.” Didn’t seem any better than the boxed version I already have. Was hoping that the graphics wouldn’t switch over to Windows Basic mode. Not only did it switch, but it blanked the other two monitors so I couldn’t even watch my Godzilla Marathon! But it does run better with this new video card I got when you run it in a window and not full screen. Maybe there’s something I’m missing…

I was ready to just delete it and “un-join” Steam, but then found out I can still install and use my various add-on thingies and aircraft. So, even though it’s always connecting and I’ll never (probably) use the multi-player part, I think I’ll keep it. At least, for awhile. Made my first intentional water landing! Cool!

Not much else going on. SWMBO has an eye appointment after the Genealogy Library so I’m kinda sorta just waiting around. Made a dump run. Renter wanted to go along but got caught up on Bainbridge Island so I took his can for him. No prob!

My Schweetie got home about 1700 and we went out for dinner at the Teriyaki Chicken place we like in Gig Harbor. Made a quick stop at Home Depot, and a not so quick stop at Safeway, and we’re back home. Groceries are put away. SWMBO is off quilting and I’m about to fly around Seattle. Fun!

Hey, Hillary! You Should Quit While You’re Ahead (Of Prison)

Just so you know, (H)er (R)oyal (C)u*t is:

Ambitious, Calculating, Disingenuous, Feels Entitled, Insincere, Out of Touch, Over Confident, Polarizing, Represents the Past, Secretive, Will Do Anything to Win, Dishonest, Amoral, Immoral, and A Murderer.

Just though y’all ought to know. Maybe you ought to give up before you’re prosecuted and climb back under that rock. Take both Obama’s & Fonda with you. And your HRC Super Volunteers Nazi group.

And y’all go ahead and take me to court. I got nothing. You’ll get nothing. And I want to see y’all prove, to the public, that she ain’t any of this. I don’t think y’all can.

There. Got that off my chest. Anytime any “group” starts in on threats like they’ve made it kinda sorta gets my dander up. Nazi Assholes. Almost worse than FEMA. “We’ll be watching…” Yeah, well watch this, Bitch!

Not much going on. Too early. About to get my shower out of the way and start my day. All the usual and it’s supposed to start raining again later today. Oh, Joy! Ah, the life of a Retiree.

Later: Made a trip to Harbor Freight & Tools in Tacoma and bought a small 900 watt generator to run my radio (and possibly some of the things in the Caravan) for $109. If it works 10 times for me to do the things I want to do then I’ll be happy. If it works more than that I’ll be happier! Was a nice drive there and back. Not too much traffic.

A couple of days ago SWMBO’s Son’s truck quit working (won’t start) and he left it right in the place that makes it difficult for me to get in and out of the garage. I have to do a 8 point turn. Had him leave the key with me this morning and about 1000 I went out, showed the truck my screwdriver, and it started right up. Moved it out of the way.

Never, ever, under estimate the power of a screwdriver. Sonic or not!

Got to pick my lovely young bride of almost 30 years up at the Ferry Landing tonight. I do enjoy spending time with her!

Out Of The Blue. 70 Degrees

Or damned close. Today was the first “Get Naked And Get Things Done Outside Day” of 2015. Nice! Gotta admit that I didn’t get much actually done; but I did get to just sit out in the sun for awhile. Nice!

And I did get the Tent Trailer set up so I can put all the stuff back in that we took out when we thought we’d be using (or buying) it. Heavy microwave and buckets of “stuff” that I really didn’t think we’d need “camping” out. Some of it would have come in handy though; just heavy to haul around.

Not much else going on around here. All the usual chores. Renter came up and talked for awhile. Kinda Sorta watching “Walking With Dinosaurs, The Movie.” (Which has great “effects” but the dialog is stupid. Really was made for kids.)

Finally went to the NMARES meeting at the local QFC. Not bad. Mostly the same guys talking mostly about what they usually talk about. Did get a couple of offers to help me install my radio in my truck. That’s nice.

And that’s about it. Just nothing going on. I lead a very boring life. Sedentary. Laid back. Relaxed.

Another Rainy Wednesday In WaRshington

Which is as it’s supposed to be; I suppose. I just hope all this rain goes away by the first weekend in April. But, with my luck…

The-Companions1

Made a run to Home Depot in Silverdale for a short section of counter top; which they didn’t have. Every time I walk by that section they have the counter top I need. Until today. Spot was empty. Figures.

So I went on over to Lowe’s and got it there. Then I stopped by Habitat For Humanity and bought a couple of bathroom drawer units. These are now pretty much in place in my shack. Still some final planning and positioning to do, and completion work, but it’s slowly getting to where I want it. Running wires will be the difficult part!

Stopped by Haselwood Chevy and talked to one of the mechanics in their shop about the Transmission Cooler I bought. Turns out I shouldn’t have bought it. He says I don’t need it as my truck was made for the hauling it can do. AND, if anything went wrong with the transmission that they could track to the external (added) cooler it would nullify my 5-year/50k mile warranty. So I guess I have an “extra” transmission cooler sitting on my shelf for the next 5 years. Thing cost only $50 anyway; no biggie.

Not much else going on. Way too wet and windy out to go outside and do anything. Been straightening up, getting chores done, and working on my financial stuff that I keep for “my” money. (“My” money pays for the truck, caravan, and “other” stuff for my shack or whatever.)

Decided I probably won’t be going to the Hollie Family Reunion this year at the end of June. I figure (rough estimate) two tanks of gas a day (@ about $50 each), plus $35-50 for “camping,” for about 14 days would come out in the neighborhood of $1900 plus. Too spendy for now. But SWMBO suggests we start putting some in savings each payday and we can go next summer.

I got to pick SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing this evening! Cool!
