Chili Dogs For Dinner!

I sure wish this damned headache would go away! It’s into day 3 now. Not a full-blown migraine, but achy enough to know it’s there. I really think I need to live somewhere the weather doesn’t change much. Like a Moonbase. Yeah, a Moonbase would do. Totally controlled “weather” even if laying out in the Sun would be a bitch!

It’s Friday and just not much going on. Listening to the “Noontime Net” on 7268.5 and updating my Google & Skydrive’s and other things online. Already have my regular chores done and am about to go check mail. Then I still have to do my mile on the treadmill. Joy.

Well, well. Seems I don’t have to “worry” that this VM will be upgraded to Windows 10 afterall. Looks like the Video Driver isn’t compatible. Now if I could just get rid of that upgrade icon on my taskbar.

Anywho, mostly just relaxed and read the afternoon away. Really didn’t feel like doing anything. Got off my fat, old and made chili dogs for dinner. With chopped onion, of course. Dog got to eat the last bit of chili in the bottom of the pot (glad he sleep on SWMBO’s side of the bed!).

Just got back from picking her up and it’s about time to go lay down. MCARC meeting in the morning. Joy.

It’s Thursday Already? Again?

Man, where does the time go? I know us old, retired, guys can have problems with remembering which day it is, but, damn. Days just seem to disappear for me.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge

Posted Monday. Have absolutely no idea what I did last Tuesday beyond picking SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing. At the end of the day. Do remember taking the Dog for a walk around the back 40; but other than that: No idea.

Yesterday (and most of today) was my “The Weather Is Changing” headache so I didn’t really get anything beyond my usual chores done. And picking SWMBO up. (Which is always a pleasure even with a headache.)

Did get out to the heavy equipment rental place; which was closed cause the owner was making a delivery. Talked to him on the phone and they do have diggers with 6-way blades: $250/day plus $39 (each way) delivery and fuel. (Which I know I can get cheaper than he ever would charge me.) Gonna have to plan what I want to get accomplished extremely well. Thinking I may need a load of dirt to build up a part of our road too.

Summer - Winter

So, back from picking her up and making snickerdoodle cookies. Yummy! Had a strange call on my truck number on the way home: someone called and asked for my lovely young bride by name, then hung up. ???

OH, Hey! Happy New Year, Y’all

SWMBO and I were in bed our usual time New Year’s Eve, so we got to miss all the people around us that fire their weapons into the air at the stroke of midnight. And, of course, none of them have midnight at the same time! We did get to hear the “practice” shooting into the air earlier though. Hey, Y’all, it’s midnight so let’s fire several tons of lead into the air! Cool!

SWMBO had Friday off. We went to the theater in Gig Harbor to see the new Star Wars movie, but, they wanted to assign us seats in the first 4 rows of the theater. Not. Even as a kid I never liked sitting so close to the screen and I’m too old to do it now. I’d get a crick in my neck, big time!

So we went to Target and consoled ourselves by spending too much money on “stuff” we really thought we needed. I took her to Qdoba’s for lunch (cause I know she enjoys the place). Then we drove to, and walked, the Mall in Silverdale to stretch our legs. Lot’s of after-Christmas sales going on but nothing that really grabbed our attention. Except for the Smelly Stuff store. SWMBO got some smelly stuff there.

Was nice spending the first day of 2016 with the love of my life.

Didn’t really do anything today. SWMBO went off to the Genealogy Library and I “played” around the house. Roughed up the Dog some. Been playing with X-Plane and trying different aircraft and settings. Managed to get myself blown out of the sky by an Animae plane.

She brought pizza home so we sat and ate before going shopping at Safeway. Which was our usual trip to Safeway. I splurged on two $1 quick-pics for the lotto since it’s up to $145 million. (That would sure be nice to win!)

So we be back and settled in for the evening.

I’m thinking of re-learning some programming to see if I can’t port WLW over to Linux. I used to be fairly good at it. What little I did. (I was more into databases than programming.)

Okay. Testing Open Live Writer

Which is supposed to be an open port of Windows Live Writer. Still doesn’t work under Linux, of course. I can’t believe the crappy selection of Blog programs in Linux! You’d think that a Blogging Programmer would have ported WLW to Linux already. Doing this because I finally can’t post to my Blogger Blog with WLW and am supposed to be able to do it with OLW. We’ll see. No spell check in this version so y’all get what y’all get.

Really not a whole lot going on today. Made a trip to the bank and stopped to fill the truck (tank) with gas on the way back. Figured that, since I’m already there, I might as well get a breakfast burrito at Safeway; so I did. Grabbed mail on the way back to the house. Netflix Day!

For some reason, I’ve already taken several “micronaps” today. Just feel tired. Runny nose. Back hurts and I haven’t done anything (that I know of) to hurt it. Would seem one would have to get off one’s fat, lazy, old, ass to hurt one’s back. Not so! But, perhaps, I doth bitch a bit too much.

And I’m back from picking SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing. I sure will be glad when she doesn’t have overtime anymore. Then I can pick her up at the QFC here in Belfair. Saves some gas and time. But even if she wanted me to pick her up at the Ferry Landing all the time, I would. Cause she’s her.

We may go see the new Star Wars movie Friday. Early.
