Sun Came Out Today For A Bit.

Damn. Just nothing really to post about tonight. Made a run to the Post Office to drop off Netflix. Picked mail up on the way back. The Usual around the house. Worked in the basement some. Kicked the Dog’s ass in the living room. (But I do let him “win” occasionally.) Ignored the Cat totally. (Well, he ignores me.) Made my pseudo-BBQ Chicken, mashed taters, and Peas for dinner (again!) cause I did so enjoy it the other night. Listened to the Noon-Time Net on 7268.5.

Installed a program called “Should I Uninstall It?” and ran that. Out of 147 programs I have installed on my computer not one was recommended to be uninstalled. A couple programs had a sort of low/high score; but wasn’t recommended to be uninstalled. (Driverbooster by iObit was the highest scorer but only 47% of the people who install it uninstall it.)

And I downloaded “Evernote” and will probably install it and test it out. I don’t know if I want to join another site though and you have to have an online account to use it. Still, if it would let me and SWMBO share “notes” about stuff it may come in handy. We’ll see. I normally use “OneNote” but you can’t use it locally now. That suxs!

Need to reinstall “Lock On” too. Every once-in-awhile I like strapping on a F15 and shooting down Russians. Like making a “scenario” and watching A-10’s kill tanks and stuff too. Been too busy “flying” MSFSX & X-Plane 9 (gotta upgrade!) though. Flying around in Google Earth is kind of fun too since the scenery is more realistic.

Was bored, and slightly hungry for a snack of some kind, so I made peanut butter cookies. They was yummy!

I’m Tired. Sore. And Smell Like Smoke

Cause I spent as much time as I could outside doing things while it wasn’t raining. Which is rare around here this time of year. So I got out and burned all the downed branches and stuff that I’ve been meaning to burn. Took most of the daylight. And, because I’m old, now I’m tired and feeling those muscles I haven’t been using much lately. Damn, I wouldn’t mind being 40 again sometimes.

Got a message from the director of Alpine Meadows canceling the MCARC meeting this coming Saturday. They have some kind of “bug” working it’s way through the population and have canceled all “outside” meetings. So I posted it to the website and we’ll see what happens. N7YGE was supposed to give a class on APRS this meeting. Gotta remember to mention this on our 2-meter Net tonight.

And that’s really about all that’s going on around here. I have a butt-ton of “inside” projects I could be doing, but decided to spend as much time outside as I could today because it wasn’t raining nor freezing. I Miss Summer! I Need To Win The Lotto (so I can follow Summer around the globe).

Got Out And About Again Today

Will wonders never cease? Had to run to the Naval Hospital for SWMBO; she needed new test strips for her blood tester thingie. Free through Tricare (if you can call paying for Tricare getting the “free” medical we were promised) or $90 for 50 of the things at Rite Aid. Standing in line for a couple of hours at the Pharmacy was cheaper.

Got home, loaded the plastics and glass into the back of the truck, and took all that to the transfer station (neighborhood dump). Came back and burned some trash (just doing my bit for global warming) and am about to finish cleaning and straightening up the Pantry.

Just posted my old Toolbox on Craig’s List. Only asking $100 for it. I have several other things I’ll be posting over the next few days. I have 2 10-inch table saws downstairs that I’ll probably never use. A Window Air Conditioner. Thinking of selling my AR Drone 2.0 cause I never fly the thing anymore.

Pillars

Not much else going on. SWMBO got home safe and joined me for a couple of episodes of “George Clark’s Amazing Spaces.” Now she’s off doing some cutting and ironing and I’m about to hit the rack.

Well, I Did Get Out Of The House Today

Made a trip to Shelton to check the MCARC Mail box; since it hasn’t been checked in over a month. Wasted trip. Box was stuffed. Didn’t keep a single piece of mail. As much as there was, only 1 piece wasn’t spam. Comcast really wants the club to buy Internet through them. One piece of mail was from a prisoner in one of the local prisons to someone we never heard of. Gave that one to the Postman to send back. Everything else went into the trash.

Pretty much rained all the way there, and all the way back. Lot’s of flooding around the area. Mudslides knocked a couple of houses off their foundations. Blocked access to Aberdeen. Rivers up all over the place! Good thing the rain is supposed to end tonight. Was still I nice ride though. Stopped at the bank and Safeway. Got gas for $2.05/gal. Not bad.

Spent pretty much the rest of the day working in the Pantry. It’s still a disorganized mess, but the new shelves we picked up last Saturday are assembled and in place. Tomorrow I’ll get in there and straighten up and clean it out. Just didn’t feel like doing it today.

Was so tired I took the easy way for dinner and cooked up a couple of burrito’s. That’s it; just burrito’s.
