Wednesday Is Like Any Other Day…

Meaning it was pretty SSDD around here for me.

Except I did make a garbage run. It’s a LOT cheaper if I make the run instead of having the trash folks come and pick it up. Lots cheaper!

Playing With Vue7

Made a couple of flights today is about all. Slowly getting better at controlling the Drone; but still having trouble looking at the video instead of the Drone itself.

Made frozen pizza’s for dinner. Loaded a bunch of books on my Nexus 7. Played with Vue 7 some. I gotta get off my lazy old fat ass and get on my PHP & CSS learning!

MCARC 2-meter chat net $ 1930. 10-meter Net last night went pretty good. We even had a new guy (KL3IW?) from Union join in. Cool!

2-meter net went well. Lots of check-ins.

It’s A Pretty Normal Tuesday…

Meaning I ain’t done shit! Well, that’s not really true. I have done some laundry and cooked Fried Chicken for dinner.

Kind of breezy out (and cool) so I only got out a couple of times to fly the Drone around. Getting better; only hit one tree this time!

MCARC 10-meter Chat Net @ 1930 tonight.

Playing with the Nexus 7. I pretty much like it. Been reading my books on it when I go to bed and it’s kind of nice not having to turn the light on. It seems as good as SWMBO’s Nook for that. It pretty much does everything you’d expect a tablet/pad to do. I even subscribed to Popular Science on it! Cool.

Had to get an App (Skifta) to access my tv/movie drives on the network; but it works great. So I could watch a movie if I was of a mind. Firefox is finally working right. Seemingly. Now if only I could figure a way for it to run my Ham Radio!

The only real “complaint” I have about it is that the Wi-fi just does not seem to have the distance/strength that I need to fly the Drone around. Get it around the edge of the house and it looses the signal. Same if it gets more than a couple of hundred feet away even in a straight, unblocked line. Think I’ll try it on my HTC phone tomorrow and see if it works any better. Otherwise I’m going to have to figure out how to boost the signal around the property. Maybe I can light up the neighborhood!

And it’s sometimes a pain not to have Flash. Oh, and it won’t play some of the .avi files I ripped my movies to. Hasn’t had any problems with .mp4 files so far. Good thing I was re-ripping my movies to .mp4 anyway…

My Goodness! Slow Day!

I mean, I’ve had some slow days before. But this one really just seemed to crawl by. Felt like I was part of the Never-ending Non-story…

5th Stree in 1950

Got outside only a couple of times to “fly.” Got kinda windy and had a definite chill to the air. Am learning to control the Drone better and only hit one tree. And I think that was because of a gust of wind.

California Street SF 1950s

Reinstalled Magix Music Maker so I can try to put some sound with the Drone videos. They’re kind of boring; but without sound they’re really boring!

Not much else going on. SWMBO had her girlfriends over for lunch and I watched the 1935 version of “She.” Next I’ll get the Ursula Undress one.

cityparkg

Been playing with Vue 7. Just trying different settings and things. Installed Vue 11, which was a “free” program; however it wasn’t “free.” Each render had an ad in it. I’d have been more willing to spend the bucks for the program if I hadn’t had to put up with commercials. I Hate Commercials!

Red Letter Day! Red Letter Day!

Got up to about 70 degrees! Warm enough for me to get out the old sandals. Warm enough to sit out in the sun for awhile. Nice Weather Day! We need lots more of them!

Ellie May Clampett

Took the Drone out for a spin a couple of times. Finally got it to save the video to the thumb drive (all I had to do was reformat it with Fat32) and only crashed it a couple of times. I just gotta learn that, in absolute control, no matter which way it’s pointed, pulling the “stick” toward me pulls the drone toward me. And I gotta learn to look at the video instead of the drone! There’s GOT to be a way to set it so which ever way the camera is pointed that’s forward. And I don’t like the “tilt” method for some reason. I’ll keep trying it though.

OLD San Francisco!

The Nexus controls the Drone really well. It’s really crappy for reading outside on a bright sunny day; but otherwise I haven’t many complaints about it. Hooks into my network (using Skifta) and let’s me check my Outlook.com mail/gmail and, so far, has done everything I’ve asked of it (except letting me read outside on a nice sunny day). I like it and it will probably replace my Kindle for reading before going to sleep. That’s still up in the air though so, we’ll see.

OLD Times Square

Not much else going on this fine Easter Sunday. SWMBO is cooking and the Ham is about done. She’s making mashed Sweet Taters and Green Beans to go with the ham. I don’t care what we have for Easter Dinner as long as I get to spend it home with her!

The Beverly Hillbillies

Oh yeah, turns out turning “absolute control” off on the Drone is what I’m looking for. That way which ever way the camera is facing is forward. Now if I can learn to look at the video instead of the Drone I’ll get a lot better at this! Gotta figure out a way to extend the Wi-Fi on it though. Maybe set up a repeater of some sort…

Anywho, Easter Dinner was excellent. Dishes are all in the dish washer ready to go.
