Pretty Normal Wednesday

Got up, looked outside, it’s raining, so I must still be in Warshington. Bummer! I keep hoping that while I’m asleep I’ll dream how to teleport (jaunt) and wake up on the beach in Northern Australia. Hasn’t happened yet. I know I have in one of the Multiverses and I keep hoping that Doc will come and tell me how it’s done. Ah well.

Been collecting this series since forever!

Still re-converting our DVD’s to .mp4 format. Time consuming. Nice to get better resolution in the same (or less) file size. I hope no “better” codec comes out anytime soon!

Now I’d like to get all my books in electronic format. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy printed books, but I’d like to get them all in electronic format for when I get my Nook HD. Lot’s easier to carry around. Although I do like reading on my Kindle.

I need a better NAS and much larger hard drives for all the stuff I have and want to do! They’re rather spendy though. I need to get everything centralized (and backed up). Maybe something with 10 4-TB drives…

Just been lounging around watching tv. Dogfights has gone off and now Mega Disaster (Methane Explosion) is on. These types of show just crack me up! As if we don’t have enough to worry about they want us to consider a gigantic methane explosion. Sorry folks, I’m too busy scanning the skies for that asteroid that’s going to slam into us to sniff for methane buildup. Oh, wait. That wasn’t methane, that was me. Sorry…

Wow! ANOTHER SSDD Day!

Which started rather earlier than my alarm clock would have had me start it! Woke up well before dawn and could not get back to sleep; so I got up and pretty much started my day. Which didn’t amount to much.

My Mom claimed to have dated the guy in the suit once.

Got the last of the laundry done. Made spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. Walked the dog. Checked the mail. Ripped a movie or two. Watched “The Unknown Land” and “The Deadly Mantis.” Read my book while pooping. Smile You know, a regular day! (At *my* age you want to be “regular!”)

Our son went to ComicCon in Seattle last Saturday and got this:

O.M.G! Now I Do Feel Old!

Hell, probably just knowing who these people are makes me old! Aaaarrrggghhh! Smile

Was a sunny and almost warm day out. Went out and got the end of my hydraulic hose fixed, came home and put it on the Digger. Then spent some time on the Digger making a reasonably flat place near the garden area to put the tires for whatever SWMBO wants to grow there this summer.

That took about an hour. Then some laundry and dishes and watching part of the “Bee Movie.” Don’t have to make dinner for everyone tonight as SWMBO ate lunch with the girls.

For some reason I’m freezing my ass off! Even my feet are cold. Wish I was at a nice hot beach somewhere!

Almost A Nice Day Out…

Sunny. Not really warm or anything; but sunny. Nice enough out for me to get off my lazy old-guy ass and change out the ignition switch on the Digger.

Took about 30 minutes cause the old ignition switch and the new switch are completely different on the ends. I got it figured out and didn’t burn the Digger up when I reconnected the battery; so that’s good. Started up and ran fine!

Running WinXP in Linux Mint 14 on my Win7 Machine

Spent the rest of the day on laundry and trying to get all the pictures I’ve scanned organized into the proper directories and somewhat in order. So far have most of my Navy Career done but still have a lot (LOT!) to do. Wondering if I should keep all the naked pictures of my Ex- or not. Smile (Just kidding! I’ll keep them!)

MCARC 2-meter net went well tonight. Had 9 check-ins and most everyone came through pretty good. Heck, if I get much more experience at this I’ll have to find a job as a DJ somewhere!

Calico Ghost Town in California

Right now I’m watching “The Avengers” and just waiting until it’s late enough to just go lay down and read until I fall asleep. I don’t know what it is, but, lately I’ve had the urge to read more than anything else. Since 01 Jan I think I’ve read 17 books. I love to read! Grew up reading. Mom swore I started reading 1st grade books when I was three. (Sometimes I even like to Study!) Decided that when I die, I want to go to Pern.

Kinda missing my kids right now too. All of them are adults but none have the balls to defy their mother and get back in contact with me. Ah well. That’s another long story for another day.
