The past two days it’s been just over 100 degree’s at the house. Outside. Sunny too. Nice. Really nice. So me and the Dog haven’t even bothered to get dressed unless we had to go somewhere. (And that doesn’t include checking mail; in case your interested.)

Been doing what I can outside and getting really dirty doing it. Got half the garage cleaned and straightened up. My half, of course. SWMBO’s half will probably be done tomorrow. Hung that indoor/outdoor carpet (about 8×10) and took this little pressure sprayer to it. Got both dirty (really dirty) and muddy on that job! Phew!

Not a whole lot else going on really. Trying to spend as much time outside as I can cause this Wx is not going to last too much longer. Matter of fact, supposed to be a chance of rain over the next couple of days. Which we need. It’s another really dry summer and we really could use some rain for a couple of days. Luckily no fires have happened in our area. Yet.

Oh, went over before it got too hot and mowed my neighbors yard. It was looking a little not-lived in.

Played with changing the header image on my site. Not quite how I want it, but close.

Practicing with my drone again. Getting to where I can land (mostly softly) within a couple of feet of where I want to land. Not bad for an Old Guy!

And that’s pretty much it. Again. SWMBO is home. She’s already lost, and found, her phone. She’s sitting in the Library reading so I think I’ll go sit next to her and read a bit before bed. Both of us being life-long readers, we can do things like that together.

I know. I know. Haven’t posted in a couple of days. That’s because nothing has been happening around here. Sure, it’s been nice outside and the Dog and I have taken off all our clothes and gone for walks and stayed outside as much as possible. That’s cause this Wx is NOT going to last much longer and we want to enjoy it as much as we can. I am not looking forward to Winter.

Aside from the usual chores I got off my ass a bit yesterday and really cleaned up the kitchen between bouts of just being outside. Also baked 3 dozen peanut butter cookies for SWMBO. (Extra crisp.) Had chili and crackers for dinner. Made some .gif’s. Scanned some pictures.

Got the rider-mower out and did the front yard and path around the property. As much as I could do. Need to take a digger-blade to the path and smoth some things out. Cut up that old tree that fell and take it to my friend in Olalla. (Gotta get one of my chainsaw’s working though. Haven’t started either of them in a couple of years. Probably need some major cleaning.)

Not a whole lot going on today. Or yesterday. Or the day before yesterday. I really do lead a boring life. Was really nice outside today so the Dog and I spent a lot of time outside. SSDD.

MCARC 2-meter Wednesday Evening Chat net went well. Not a lot of check-ins; but enough. The 10-meter Net last night went well too. Thought I heard someone talking in Italian on 40-meters today; maybe they were talking about the earthquake they had?

Which has SWMBO thrilled all to hell. I, on the other hand …

It was another 100 degree day yesterday. And our usual Saturday. SWMBO took me to a little hole-in-the-wall steak place in Shelton for our date. Good food. Not too hot on the onion rings on the burger, but it really wasn’t bad. The salad was excellent.

Then we went to Walmart for groceries and “stuff.” It’s the “stuff” that usually costs us way too much money. SWMBO bought a little tablet cover with bluetooth keyboard for her tablet for $15. I got a couple of movies. We got the makings for tacos for Sunday dinner.

Turns out her 10” tablet doesn’t have bluetooth. Shit! Thing worked great on my 8” tablet but there wasn’t even a bluetooth selection in the settings on her tablet. So I think I’m going to buy her a new one. Tablet. With bluetooth.

Today, Sunday, has been our usual Sunday so far. Getting laundry started. My usual chores done. Chopping up tomato’s and onions for our Taco dinner. All the usual stuff.

Bought a new sprinkler for the back yard. One of those that goes chunk-chunk-chunk in a circle. Seems to be working good.

Turns out I’m the one making dinner tonight, so the meat is simmering and the refried beans are warming up. We may eat before the 1630 time I’d anticipated.

SWMBO is going to have to go pick up her Son. Who had another accident (3rd or 4th this year) and maybe totalled his truck. So far, none of the accidents has been his fault; but you don’t want to get me started.

MCARC 2-meter Sunday Evening Chat Net went well; but I wasn’t Net Control this week! My reception still sucks though. I really need to get off my fat, old, ass and move my antenna again.

And I guess that’s about it. Almost this Old Guy’s bedtime.

Was looking through our pictures of our trips around and I’ve figured out the reason (or one of the reasons) I hang around the house so much. Going places and doing things is so much better when I have my Lovely-Young-Bride (of almost 30 years) with me.

Don’t get me wrong; I will, and do, go places without her. And I can have a good time when I do. But I sure do enjoy taking her along and holding her hand when we see new things. Old things. Things.

So I hang around the house a lot. Sure, I get “projects” (and chores) done, and even occasionally go for a “day trip,” but I mostly save going anywhere we haven’t been for when she can go with me. Those places are just more fun with her along.

Anywho, supposed to get up in the high 90’s today. Except for the fire hazard (I do live next to a forest!) I’m enjoying the Hell out of this Wx. A friend is coming over before noon to pick up these router boxes, and I have to be at the Naval Hospital after 1300 to pick up my meds, but, otherwise, I’m going to be outside, in my wading pool, all day. Hopefully.

Made a run to WinCo Foods in Bremerton. Almost stopped at the Bremerton Airport for the Fly-In, but the parking lot was packed with people looking for a place to park. And on a Friday! Think I’ll get up early tomorrow (which I do every morning anyway) and head over to it and just sit until it opens. At least I’d get a decent parking space.

Also stopped and got my Meds. I was the only one “in line” so I got through pretty quickly.

It’s HOT today. Deck thermometer reads 102 right now. (Remember: That’s, like, 190 degrees anywhere else.) Took the Dog for a mosey around the back 40. About to go step into that wading pool!

Also watered the front-front and back yards since it’s so dry around here. Burn bans in effect in this whole Puget Sound area. Hopefully, this year will be like our previous 7-8 years and we won’t get a fire in the forest behind us. (And I wouldn’t mind seeing that 3-4 ft of snow (this next Winter) the locals claim we got the winter before we moved in. Course, it wouldn’t matter to me cause I don’t have to go anywhere. But SWMBO does.)

Got to pick her up at QFC again tonight. Tried to keep the AC on for her. Got a bit too cold for me. (But I’m a warm Wx person.)
