Kind Of A Slow Saturday…

But, then, y’all kind of expect that of me. Ah well.

Before I lost my truck for the day to our son, I did manage to get down to Blockbuster and rent a couple of movies on Blu Ray. Clash of the Titans & Wrath of the Titans. Guess it’ll be a Titan evening!

We Had One Of These When I Was A Kid.

Finally made a PSK31 contact on 10-meters. Hell, finally made a non-Net radio contact. Was going to do more but got busy trying to fix the connection between my laptop and radio. Dang thing keeps dropping out after 5-10 minutes so I have to manually control the radio. That sucks! Worked fine for 3 years or so but lately it just drops the connection after awhile. Think I’ll set up a desktop computer and see if that works…

I really don’t use the radio as much as I should though.

Other than that, just not much going on. It rained off and on today so the dog and I got to take only one walk. Left some peanuts for the squirrels. Got our feet all muddy. The usual.

We dated a few times in High School.

Inexpensive Dinner & Shopping Friday!

What did you expect? It’s Friday! And other than getting to go on a date with my SWMBO not much going on.

We have a habit of putting out some peanuts on a tree stump at the back of our property when we go for a tour of the grounds. Today I setup my camera and just let it video (can’t really say “film” anymore) to see what eats the peanuts. About 2 hours later when we went to check the peanuts were still there; so I guess nothing eats them! Smile But, then, where do they go?

Woke up before the alarm then went back about 0930 and (accidently) took a short 10-minute nap. So I’ve had a pretty lazy day today.

But the sun was mostly out and I did get to spend some time outside. Felt great! Should have another day like it before the rain starts again. IF you can believe the weatherperson…

Wow! ANOTHER SSDD Day!

Which started rather earlier than my alarm clock would have had me start it! Woke up well before dawn and could not get back to sleep; so I got up and pretty much started my day. Which didn’t amount to much.

My Mom claimed to have dated the guy in the suit once.

Got the last of the laundry done. Made spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. Walked the dog. Checked the mail. Ripped a movie or two. Watched “The Unknown Land” and “The Deadly Mantis.” Read my book while pooping. Smile You know, a regular day! (At *my* age you want to be “regular!”)

Our son went to ComicCon in Seattle last Saturday and got this:

And that’s about it for today. Have the Chat Net coming up at 1930 on 28.450 USB and ought to get the dishes done. Notice I said “ought to.”

Ok, In A Better Mood Today…

But have a headache developing. Oh Joy!

Let’s see… SWMBO took me to the All-You-Can-Eat Chinese food place over on Bethel for lunch yesterday. Food was good but the company was much better. Then we zoomed out to the Silverdale Mall and walked some of that lunch off. Then back home for SSDD. Smile

Got my new 110 film scanner in yesterday. Had to pick it up at the Post Office cause the box Amazon shipped it in was way too big for our mailbox. They *coulda* put it in a smaller box!

So, spent several hours yesterday, and this morning, scanning all my old 110 sized negatives. Man, some of those pictures haven’t seen the light of day since they were taken! Was only about 1300 110 scans; a little bit more with playing around with the old Kodak sizes. I don’t know how I’m going to easily scan those! Don’t know how I’m going to scan all those large format negatives from High School either. I may have to build something special…

The final scans aren’t the absolute best but more than adequate. Way better (and cheaper)  than having prints made then scanning those. You gotta remember that the 110 sized film can’t gather a whole lot of information/light and anything that small blown up is going to be somewhat grainy. I’m happy with the quality and it’ll be fine enough for archiving purposes.

NMARES meeting went okay last Thursday evening. Actually had 7 people show up. Dang! Lot’s of hoohaha  going on about the club Constitution and By-Laws. Club Officer elections coming up pretty soon. I will NOT be club President any longer! “They” also decided to shut down the club website; just not taking in enough in dues to pay for it. So, I think I’ll port it over to wordpress.com and just pony up the annual domain name charges. They’re also not understanding that the website could notify everyone of when the next meeting is if only they’d subscribe to the posts. They’d rather someone send out an e-mail with that info. Oh well, I guess not all us old guys can clue in on technology! Rolling on the floor laughing

And that’s about it for today. Gotta get some dishes done if I expect us to cook and eat dinner.
