Twelve Things To Know About The New Year.

January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November & December. We’ll cover the rest sometime later!

SWMBO’s Zune Bricked yesterday and it still isn’t back to normal. She was slightly miffed that she couldn’t take it to work with her yesterday. Well, she could have; but it wouldn’t have done anything for her.

And since she did go into work yesterday we didn’t get to spend New Year’s Eve together. Not that we do anything anyway; I wasted most of my day on the Twilight Zone marathon on the Sci-Fi Channel. And I was so tired by 2230 that I just went in, read awhile and zonked out until the alarm went off this morning. Damn, we’re exciting people! You should have heard the people get out and shoot their guns into the air at midnight last night! Crazy Buttheads.

SWMBO took me to the Silverdale Mall to do some walking around and just to get out of this house for awhile. I bought “Rail Simulator” and she bought $50 in books at Waldenbooks. She fed me too! Cool! Was nice just walking around with her but I think I like the Mall during summer better.

Not much else going on around here. Weather sucks. Been to the property a couple of times but couldn’t even get up into the driveway. Did manage to get stuck and had to dig myself out. Most of the lowlands snow is melted off except in shadowed places.

BTW, hope everyone had a great New Years.

Post Christmas ______(Fill In The Blank)…

Not the blahs, really. Kinda Sorta just glad it’s mostly over. Maybe tv will get back to normal. Nah!

Phil & I drove out to the property today. Snowed almost all the way and back. If I had been thinking I’d have realized that they probably plowed the main road to the property. And that, since I’m not actually living there to go down and clear the opening to the driveway, that there might be a 4 foot high wall of snow blocking access to the property. If I had been thinking… But I wouldn’t have made it up the driveway anyway as there is about 18 inches of snow (knee deep) all the way up. I only made it about half way walking up when I saw fresh bear tracks and decided on the better part of valor. Uh, I left. Did manage to take a few pictures though. Put them up in my Gallery, if yer interested. (About the bear tracks; I don’t really know if they were fresh or not. But, considering how hard it was snowing and that the tracks had not filled in very much (if any) I decided not to chance it. I really don’t want to meet that bear by myself. I want someone with me that I can outrun…)

Christmas went pretty well this year. Our son didn’t make it but SWMBO’s brother did. My present (as always) is being able to spend the holiday with SWMBO. She got me a new 1.5 TB drive for our MediaServer. Cool! Took almost 3 hours to format the thing! Now I’m busy moving all the tv shows from one of the 500 GB drives to it. Takes a long time to copy that much information over even with both drives being internal.

SWMBO spent a good couple of hours putting her Christmas present together; and enjoyed almost every minute of it. She got a nice looking lateral file cabinet for her desk that she’s trying to assemble. I’d have put it together for her but she wanted to do it. Cool! She’s so handy.

Not much else going on around here. Brian (our son) is over and SWMBO is making breakfast for us. I get to go help Phil cut up some of the wood he has laying around his place so he can heat his house. It’s raining (of course!).

Christmas Eve. Cool!

Weather yesterday was mostly clear; no snow or rain. Mostly. I seem to remember a few flakes (the snow kind) very early. Today it snowed like a sumbitch for awhile, mixed snow/rain for awhile, then just a really cold rain.

Took Phil to Albertson’s and COSTCO during the worst part of the snowing. Got better traction in the fresh snow. I’d bet we passed by 8 cars off the side of the road stuck in the snow! When will these people learn to slow down when it snows? Dorks. Phil and I only slid around once on a really icy part of the road where we had to turn. Still, the normally 10 minute trip took almost 45. Got our stuff at Albertson’s and headed over to COSTCO. Phil hits all the stands handing out the free food on the way in, does his shopping, then hits all the free food stands on the way out. Took (Takes) forever!

Yep, it’s Christmas Eve. Got a call from Ginny (Sis) in Utah. She wanted to tell me that she’d heard Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon” in an LDS Chapel in Utah. I told her I was always glad to hear about Mormons moving into the 19th Century. Unfortunately they only played it for a funeral of a young person she knew. Bummer.

Not much else going on around here. Just trying to get the place cleaned up for guests tomorrow. Gotta get off my lazy fat ass and get the kitchen cleaned up.

Here’s a slideshow of the pictures I took the other day and posted in our gallery. Not sure who did the music; sounds like the kind of stuff I do so I may have. I just don’t remember.

Too Much Snow! Still!

And more predicted. Wow. Now, I know that a lot of folks "back East" and in places like Utah are thinking to themselves "What an idiot. That’s not much snow". You have to remember though; We live in a place where a "mere" 2 inches in the winter brings the whole area to a complete standstill. Chaos ensues. Emergency measures are put in place: Schools close. Post Offices close. All traffic is rerouted through Jacksonville, Florida. No one is allowed to have a baby for the next 14 months. Serious shit.

Heard creaking sounds coming from our roof last night. Guess I ought to pull as much snow off the roof as I can today. This being stuck in the house Sucks! Oh, and we lost power for a couple of hours last night. Bummer. Good thing we’re prepared though. I plugged the converter into the battery thingie I have then plugged the radio into the converter. Commercial radio sucks! I listened to KOMO News to kind of keep an ear on how the storm was progressing and cause it was the only station that came through halfway clear. They’d have maybe 2 minutes of talking then 3-5 minutes of commercials. Brrrr. Half of their "Traffic on the 4s" (meaning traffic report every 10 minutes but on the "4"s (04, 14, 24 etc)) was half ad for "Traffic on the 4s". How Do these folks live with themselves?

I don’t think SWMBO’s Kia is going anywhere soon!

Sent these pics off to Northwest Cable News (NWCN). Maybe they’ll show them on tv…
