Wouldn’t You Know That…

Something had to go slightly wrong with the whole house deal! I am not kidding! Everything was going along nice and (too) smooth, and, BAM! Seems our Realtor (Sue) wasn’t as familiar with her new forms as could have been and our offer wasn’t quite what we thought. Turns out we forgot to include the "Seller pays the closing costs" part of our offer. You bet the Sellers accepted our offer of $350k and we pay most everything else!

So we spent a good part of today trying to get that straightened out. Of course the Sellers aren’t going to accept anything different that would cost them money. Neither would I. But they do have to pay Escrow and something else and we have to add $3000 to our loan and still come up with $1800-$2100 (rough estimate on my part) at closing.

Poor Sue feels so bad she’s kicking in $1100 of the closing costs from her commission on this. We really don’t blame her for anything; anyone can get lost when things change. It’s nice though that she’s willing to "fix" the mistake. We’re not usually mistaken in our loyalty to those who treat us well in any dealings!

Just not much else going on unless you count me getting a haircut. Weather sucks! Raining, of course. Got out to the property yesterday for awhile and started practicing making a rock wall with the boulders I’ve dug up. Fun!

Setting up an FTP server on one of the DNS-321’s for practice. It seems to be working but I’m going to have someone else log in and see if it works then. One thing I want is a place I can store the Utilities I use and access them from the web when I’m over working on someone’s computer. Although my 32gb usb drive seems to hold all I really need. Believe it or not; some of the computers I work on are more than 10 years old and don’t have usb ports! Really! Just cracks me up when someone wants Windows XP installed and they have an old (old!) computer and a "gigantic" 2.4GB drive. Can you say "Anchor?" :-P
