Ain’t Been Doin’ Nuttin’.

Cept hanging around the house. Did get out to the property for the usual last Tuesday. Was a beautiful day! Wednesday was a pretty normal day what with SWMBO heading in to work and me trying to finish things up around the house. Today SWMBO and I got out and mowed & trimmed the lawn. I like doing things with her!

Spent most of last evening going through my MP3 Working directory and finally editing the mp3’s I’ve recorded from the Internet radio stations. I’ll record 5 or 6 hours straight usually then eventually edit it into 15 minutes tracks for a cd to play in the truck. Discovered something called "Chill". Nice. Mellow. Heard a song called "Underground" by the Sneaker Pimps (at least that’s what the song bar said) that I really liked. Can you believe I would listen to something by someone called the Sneaker Pimps!?

We’ve redesigned our house. Trying to centralize all the plumbing and such for economy reasons. I like the new design better than the old one…

Did see a couple of (F-22?) Raptors fly over our house at about 500 feet today. Too Cool! Think I’ll go to the Air Show at McChord AFB Saturday…

Nice Hot Sunny Day!

And I’m stuck at home. Damn! Been out to the property every chance I have and it’s just too damned expensive. Funny though: I was looking at my speedometer and it says in the last 3.5 years I’ve put 44.8k on the truck. Now, other than a trip to (Chehalis? Wherever those floods happened last December) and a couple of trips to Yelm to look at that dome being built, most all those miles have been put on going out to the property and back. Mostly. So, if we use an AVERAGE of $3.00/gal for gas (cause way back when gas cost $1.90/gal and now it costs $4.30/gal and I’m just using made-up numbers anyway) and I get 350 miles per 12 gallons, then I’ve spent $4608.00 in gas running around. (Let’s see: 44800 miles / 350 miles per tank = 128 tanks * (12*3) $36 per tank (average) = $4608) Confused? Me too! And I don’t even want to get into how much I’ve spent for Diesel putting the road in and other stuff around the property!

Saturday and Sunday (after the first session of church) I went out to the property and moved trees around and pushed over a few more. Only have about 20 more to do to clear where we’re going to build the house. (IF we ever build this house. I tell ya: if THIS doesn’t work out I’m getting a mobile home to put up there! ) Weather has been absolutely wonderful and I probably spent as much time laying out and reading as I did working.

Made a run to Staples this morning to buy one of those earphone/microphone thingies so I can try to teach Vista to ignore me when I talk to it. At the checkout counter SOMEHOW we got on the subject of Age. I told the girl, "You know how to tell you’re getting old? You’re getting old when you ask a perfect stranger at the checkout counter "Is my t-shirt on backwards?"

Well, back to stacking wood…

I Tell Ya. These Weeks…

Just seem to zoom by sometimes. Especially when it’s just been more of the same around here…

Wednesday was a fairly normal day. SWMBO was off to her new office at the new GHC building wherever the hell that is. I finally got off my fat lazy ass and moved some wood around out front and started stacking the wood I’ve already split. Bout time! Then I almost finished putting in the slide out drawers SWMBO wanted me to put in the base cabinet she bought for her office. That evening I got some of my Mom’s pictures scanned playing with this new scanner I have. It does a pretty good job but the user interface is frustrating.

Thursday was pretty much SSDD also. Finished off the cabinet drawers. Moved/stacked some wood. Spent the evening playing with Vista. Still not impressed but figure I have to learn it (if not use it). I still like playing with and fixing computers so I have to keep up on these things.

Got SWMBO up earlier than usual this AM and took her to see "Hancock" at the Galaxy Theater in Gig Harbor. I tell ya; we ought to wait until a movie has been out a month and go see the early show for any movie we want to see! We had the theater to ourselves again. Too cool! Movie was okay. Charleze was looking as fine as usual! Stopped at KFC after the movie then came on home so SWMBO could get some work done. I went on out to the property and stacked the trees I’ve already pushed over. Sure was nice out there. So nice I stayed until almost 1800 this evening.

We got a "letter of committment" from Timberland Bank. They’ll loan us $320k if we do (list to follow). I don’t think this is going to work. We have too much coming out of the funds before we even get started building the house that I don’t think we’ll have enough left over to build.

On the way to Albertson’s this evening SWMBO and I stopped by a 3 bedroom 2 bath 3 car garage place for sale just up hill from us. Flyer says they want $399k for the place. Gee, all that and 2.1 acres of land for $400k. NOT!

If you stop everything else making noise on this page you might hear some thunder. Kinda rare for us…

Still SSDD Around Here!

You maybe expected different? I don’t DO different.

Sunday: I went (drum roll please) Out To The Property. Kind of late but I got out there and pushed a couple of trees over. Will this never end? Was really overcast and kinda sorta cool out so I didn’t just lay around much. Sunday evening I spent "making music" with Magix Musicmaker to some of the videos I’m made lately. Converted them to .flv files and posted them on my video site. Here’s a short video of the moon I took Saturday evening. Thought the color was interesting…

Monday: Stayed around the house even thought it was nice and hot. Just too much to do. SWMBO and I made a trip to COSTCO and got sodas and stuff. Wasted some time in FSX and playing with X-Plane 9. Here’s a short video I made I call "Let’s See If The Passengers Are Awake!" Every once in awhile the Fighter Pilot in me comes out to play…

Today, Tuesday I did get out to the property for more of the same. Still like being out there of course. Sometimes it seems like a move a butt-ton of dirt and still it looks like I haven’t done much of anything. I need a dozer for a few days… Got home and made Taco’s for SWMBO; except she doesn’t like the taco shells. She uses tortillas instead. And Sour Cream! Gads! Was going to work on her cabinet and try to get the drawers done but will probably do that tomorrow when she goes into her office. The road to the property will be closed tomorrow for repair of the temporary bridge. I could go the long way around; but will probably not. Gas is just too damned expensive! I spent $25 for gas for my truck and $27 for desiel for the digger today. Phew!

Think I’ll go scan some pictures…
