Just Another (Naked) Tuesday. Boring!

Playing with the new camera. When I say “The Back 40,” this is what I’m talking about.

Other than that not much going on. Feel a hell of a lot better today than I did yesterday but not quite back to “normal.” Managed to eat a half bowl of cheerios for breakfast but haven’t felt like eating since.

Nice warm day too. These aren’t going to last much longer so the Dog and I are spending as much time as we can outside, naked, just enjoying the weather. I think I need a pond though. Wonder how I could get that through the EPA? (Not!)

The MCARC 10-meter Chat Net went as usual. I could hear only a couple of the others and only a couple of the others could hear me. Maybe I need a new antenna?

And that’s pretty much it. SWMBO is home and relaxed and it’s almost time to go to bed.

Another Day. Another … Day.

And that really says it all.  Spent a couple of hours updating the MCARC site and making it look “purty.” Made some things work a bit better too. Then I had to catch up at Redneck Mormon with the latest political shit. Yep, I’m a Redneck.

Made a run into Bremerton to return the Heart Monitor thingie. Stopped by the Vape shop on the way back. Stopped at Les Schwab’s and picked up the mower tires (got them tubed). Only cost me $27. Which seems kind of high to me but now the tires should last a few more years before they just fall apart.

My Next Mower!

Got home and our Renters were packing to leave for the weekend. When they finally pulled out I took off all my clothes and mowed both yards. Nice out there! Watered the garden. Ate a bunch of ripe black berries on my walk around the property. Nice out there!

And that’s pretty much how I spent the rest of the day until time to pick SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing. Just trying to keep busy around the house, get some things done, and not sit around so damned much. SWMBO is home and I’m about to go to bed.

Free! Finally Free!

Of that damned heart monitor. The 48 hours ran out a few minutes ago, it shut itself down, and I got everything unstuck from me with very little pain or lost skin. Cool! I’ll turn it in tomorrow morning; since I really don’t want to put up with afternoon traffic nor do I feel like making two trips to Bremerton today.

Still getting over the headache I had last night to about 0930 this morning. I hate having a migraine! Tried freezing my head last night but it only worked enough to let me get to sleep. Then I re-froze it this morning and it mostly worked. Of course I still have that post-migraine blah feeling and my head is still almost hurting. That’ll go away soon. I hope.

Just not much going on otherwise. Got out and raked some more gravel from the edges of the driveway towards the center. Bill (AE7GC) came over and got the antenna I donated to the newbie. (Why the Newbie didn’t come over with him I don’t know and didn’t ask.) Pounded a post in to hold the 2-meter antenna for when I move back into “my” room. Par-boiled the cauliflower I picked yesterday and it’s freezing now. Did some of my “usual” chores. Sat out in the sun for a few.

Spent a couple of hours online looking for places to go “camping” when we next get time and inclination to go. Lots of places that are fairly easy drives. I’m really getting this go camping, go see the National Parks, bug!

Nope. Not A “Normal” Monday.

Had to be in Bremerton at the Harrison Cardiac place by 0930. Got there with time to spare! (I am retired Navy. Gotta be to any appointment at least 15 minutes early.) Even with getting there early I didn’t wait long. Lady took me in, shaved the middle of my chest, hooked some sensors to me, gave me a “log” to write down any “problems” I have, and turned me loose on the world.

Still One Of My Favorite Movies!

So, I get home and decide to get about my “usual” day. Started up the weed whacker and wacked the weeds in the “back” yard. Only pulled one of the sensors off (which I quickly reattached). Then I walked a mile on my treadmill. Felt a twinge in my chest so I pulled the monitor thingie off my belt and, totally blank screen. How the hell are you supposed to write down the time if the screen is totally blank? Tried pressing buttons but nothing worked. (I’m a Big Button Pusher! How do you reboot this thing?!?)

Called Harrison and they told me to come back in. Forty-Five minutes and WAY TOO MUCH TRAFFIC later I pull in and parked. They got me right in. The lady changed out the double-A (copper top) battery and told me to go on home but the monitor time had been restarted. Cool, but, I Could Have Changed The Damned Battery At Home! Still, I would have had to go in anyway just in case it was something wrong with the monitor and not just a run-down battery. But I could have tried the battery at home and maybe saved a trip. Ah well.

No, I’m not upset or anything. Just not used to making THREE trips to/from Bremerton in a day (still have to pick SWMBO up tonight). She wants to stop by Safeway on the way home. Cool I’m willing to bet there’s at least one doughnut with my name on it.. (And I better get gas on the way or we’ll be walking some of it.)

Stopped at McDonalds & Safeway on the way home. Wondering how the hell I’m supposed to sleep with this monitor thing on. I have a bad habit of taking off all my clothes and other things that bother me in my sleep. Maybe I ought to duct tape a t-shirt on myself!
