My lovely-young-bride of 32+ years looked me in the face this morning and said “Buses are running so I need to try to get to work.” To which I replied: “?” You DO realize that the snow is still way too deep out there? Yep. (Inside thought was: “Any Sane person would just call in sick/snowed in.” Don’t get me started!)

So I managed to get the truck turned around and went up and down the driveway a couple of times and it appeared to be okay. She got in and we took off. Almost got stuck just after going under the toppled over tree but managed to make it out to the road. Actually got her to the bus stop in town with plenty of time to spare.

When I came home I didn’t slow down for anything and made it into the garage. Cool!  This afternoon we’ll see if I can get out when I get to go pick her up.

Not doing a lot. Snow is so deep “off-road” that we’ve been sticking to the tire tracks when we’ve gone out for walks. Stopped by my friends up-hill to check on them. He seemed surprised that anyone would walk through the snow to check up on them. Good. That’s what you do for friends.

So, not a lot going on. Snow is kinda sorta melting but is still not very driver friendly out there. Hearing a lot of “wires down and on fire” reports on the radio. Supposed to snow again tomorrow too. Joy.

And, one doesn’t stay married 32+ years by speaking those inside-thoughts.

Was lucky I got out of the driveway yesterday evening to go pick SWMBO up at the  ferry landing. Got stuck in the snow when I pulled to the side to let a tail-gating asswipe past me. Luckily a nice young guy helped me get unstuck! Still took an hour to get to the ferry landing and an hour to get back.

Then, my truck was acting the snow plow and I didn’t make it to the garage before coming to a full stop.  Not Going Any Farther! And we had to make it under the downed tree at the end of the driveway. Joy.

So, bottom line: we’re stuck at home for the duration. So I’m cooking a lot.

Started snowing around 1330 today and has been snowing since. Got another 4 inches or so so far. There’s a foot of snow on our deck railings!

The lower part on the left is where I cleared to wood before 1300. This is at 1900 or so and you can see we’ve gotten about half of what we got day before yesterday. Oh Joy! I don’t think SWMBO is going to work any time soon.

Other than that just not a lot happening. The Dog and I do get out for walks occasionally (He IS a snow-dog!) but mostly we’re stuck inside. Ah well.

So I’ve been flying around in X-Plane. Landed the shuttle. Not where it was supposed to land, but I landed it. Hope Chicago O’Hare didn’t mind too much!

Starting to worry about my Renter. She’s a month late on electric and hasn’t paid the rent for this month yet. Haven’t been able to get hold of her in the text thingie I use. Can’t use Messenger for another 6 or 7 days (since I got time-outed again). Hope she’s safe.
