A New Smallville!

Cool! And, except for Pete Ross’ continued whining, it was pretty good. At least we didn’t have to put up with a lot of Lana Angst stuff! The commercial for next weeks episode looked pretty good also! But, as much as I like Smallville I can’t stand “THE CW”. I think next week I’m going to actually time the show/commercial ratio. I honestly believe the CW has more commercial than show. I hate that damned channel. Smallville, and sometimes Supernatural, are the ONLY things I watch on that channel.

Been raining more than not all day so I haven’t gotten out much. Well, I haven’t gotten out at all today. Been busy on my computer and I actually got some studying done today. Yay! Deep Space Observing. Now I need a telescope that will allow me to look for those objects in deep space! When it’s not cloudy or raining, that is. About 2 weeks spread throughout the year. :???:

Have an appointment with a new General Contractor at 1000 tomorrow. Here, thank goodness. That’ll save me a bit of gas anyway. Will let y’all know how that goes.

Nothing else happening. It’s too late anyway. Think I’ll watch Beowulf and go to bed…

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Still not much going on. Not with it raining like it is…

Went out to Belfair yesterday and had a sit down with Earl @ Lincoln Construction so he could explain his pricing method. It almost sorta sounds okay except I’d be doing almost ALL the work. Really, the only ’problem’ that I can see is if something were to happen to me Kathy would have to drop everything she’s doing and finish building the dome or pay Lincoln a LOT of money. Probably more than it would be worth.

A man walked into a very high-tech bar. As he sat down on a stool he noticed that the bartender was a robot. The robot clicked to attention and asked, "Sir, what will you have?"
The man thought a moment then replied? "A martini please."The robot clicked a couple of times and mixed the best martini the man had ever had.
The robot then asked, "Sir, what is your IQ?"
The man answered"oh, about 164."
The robot then proceeded to discuss the ’theory of relativity’, ’inter-stellar space travel’, ’the latest medical breakthroughs, etc…….

The man was most impressed. He left the bar but thought he would try a different tact. He returned and took a seat. Again the robot clicked and asked what he would have? "
A Martini please." Again it was superb? The robot again asked "what is your IQ sir?"

This time the man answered, "Oh about100". So the robot started discussing NASCAR racing, the latest basketball scores, and what to expect the Dodgers to do that week end. The guy had to try it one more time. So he left, returned and took a stool.
Again a martini, and the question, "What is your IQ?"

This time the man drawled out " Uh…..’bout 50".
The robot clicked then leaned close and very slowly asked ,
"A-r-e . y-o-u-r . .. p-e-o-p-l-e . . r-e-a-l-l-y . . .g-o-i-n-g . ..t-o . . n-o-m-i-n-a-t-e H-i-l-l-a-r-y-???"

It’s raining pretty good today so once I get up and started I’ll be getting on the phone and calling a few more General Contractors. Gotta get off my ass and call Larry Byrnes @ monolithic also and I don’t want to. I really don’t like talking to him. Nothing gets accomplished! We paid him over $900 to finish off the plans for the dome; and got back crap. I don’t believe he even looked at the stuff I sent him with where I wanted electrical plug-ins or lights. And he added fans where we didn’t want them. His plumbing detail isn’t. And he will not put in the augments for the windows! No, I am not a happy camper when it comes to Monolithic’s architectural department.

Wet & Windy Tonight!

So I expect to lose the power if this keeps up… I swear, I think sometimes that a bird could land on a wire and fart and we’d lose power out here!

Not much going on. Again. But that’s why y’all tune in, right?

Sunday: Did the first hour of church then went out to the property to work on my Digger. Still have a hydraulic leak. Had to dismantle half the damned superstructure to get to the hoses! Took an hour and a trip into town to buy an extension for my socket set. Just could not reach the last bolt otherwise! Found the problem and tightened up the fitting. Now, if it’s NOT the hose going bad it shouldn’t leak anymore. Hopefully! Was pretty nice (weather wise) out there.

Today was a kind of straighten up my computer and around the house day as it was really too wet to head out. Except for the trip I made to Gorst to give a copy of our old estimates to Ray at McCormick Construction. Stopped by Group Health to get my Rx refilled.

Trying to get all my "stuff" on the computer and several different notebooks and yellow pads organized. Big job! Using a program called SEO Note. Kind of a freeform database/listing of whatever you want to put in it. Works pretty good. I use Essential PIM for ’calendar’ stuff but it’s note taking/keeping ability just hasn’t impressed me. I think because it doesn’t use Tabs and ALL your ’main folders’ are listed. If you have as many ’folders’ as I it’s nice to have them grouped on their own tabs. I have tabs for ’computer’, ’my stuff’, ’news’, ’notes’ and the ’dome’ and have sub-folders (sub-notes) grouped according to what tab they would come under. If E-PIM did something like that I’d probably use it for notes. E-PIM does pretty good as a calendar/schedule/todo (even if their Contacts section sucks!) but I need the notes part also. Ah well. I’ve not found a program that does it all yet. Outlook Pro came pretty close. Wish they’d add some of these functions to Thunderbird!

Still making time-lapse movies and adding music to them. You can check out my latest time-lapse of clouds here (if ya want). I really enjoy Magix Music Maker! Had to sit down and make myself a schedule of what to do when. Think I mentioned this in an earlier post. Well, you’ll be glad to note that I am completely off schedule! That’s me! Consistent to the last! :-P There’s just too damned many things I want to learn or do!

Here’s something you wouldn’t see every day!

When I’m through learning everything I can for the night (which takes about 20 minutes as my brain gets full!) I like to light off FSX and fly around. Thinking of buying the latest X-Plane but have to save up…

Purty Normal Crap Going On!

Was out moving dirt last Thursday when I noticed a hydraulic fluid leak coming from somewhere under my digger. I parked it and left it to work on later.

Friday was Date With SWMBO and we went out kind of early (for lunch actually) at Taco Bell and I had to run around getting copies made of our guesstimates so I didn’t get back out to the property that day. Had a nice walk around inside Staples. Bought MS FS2002 for one of the Missionaries for $10. I think mine cost $50 a few years ago. Mostly sat around watching tv and playing on the computer Friday night.

Got up early this morning. Headed out to the property earlier than I usually do so I could work on the Digger. Crawled underneath it and tightened up all the connections I could reach. Didn’t see any worn hoses or sprung thingies. Filled it up with hydraulic fluid and spent a couple of hours moving dirt around. Didn’t appear to leak anymore so I guess I got it. Must have really heated something up the other day and it started leaking. I don’t know. Damn it, Jim, I’m a retired Hospital Corpsman. Not a mechanic!

Fed the Missionaries this evening. SWMBO made her Chicken Paprikosh(?) and it was good. One of the Missionaries got clumsy and spilled grape juice all down his white shirt! I got most of it out but that shirt will probably never be the same. Loaned him one of my (non-white) shirts to go to the meeting he had with the Bishop. (Dang! I should have called the Bishop and said that I think one of the Missionaries stole one of my shirts…)

I’ve finally HAD to make myself a calendar of things to do in order to get anything done. I’m so busy doing things (on my computer) that I don’t get a lot of anything done. Know what I mean? I need to scan all my pictures, rip my dvd’s to avi files, keep my movie database updated, study mysql, php, Ham radio stuff and a bit of accounting and all the normal stuff I do. Sometimes I have so much to do I can’t make up my mind what to do and don’t get anything done. Like right now: I’m doing this entry AND ripping the avi’s of the clouds I took earlier into jpg files to assemble into another time-lapse movie of clouds (really pretty sunset tonight).

Gotta go. Y’all remember to "spring’ your clocks ahead an hour tonight of you’ll be an hour late for church tomorrow morning!
