Life Goes On! And It’s Busy!

At least, I’ve been busy. Mostly. To be honest though, I haven’t posted in so long partially from laziness also. It’s not like I have anything new to pass on most of the time. Let’s see, the last time I did this was the 3rd. So…

Thursday: Mostly sunny & Warm; which I like. Spent most of the day at the property. Made meatloaf for dinner.

Friday: SWMBO took me to Red Lobster for endless shrimp. Was good. Walked around Sears afterwards looking for a weedwacker mower but wound up buying me a tool box. Then we went to COSTCO and bought some stuff and came on home. I made a trip to Home Depot for some things…

Got Season 7 of Smallville in! Cool!
vlcsnap-00848

Saturday: Warm afternoon. At the property.

Sunday: Nice warm day. At the property. (Anyone else see a pattern here?)

Monday: Nice WARM day. Which I, again, spent at the property. Laid out in the sun and read for awhile. Moved some dirt. Loaded some wood into the back of the truck. Laid out and read some more. Came home. Was NICE!

Tuesday: Cloudy. Sunny. Warm. Which I spent at home today. Cool! Stayed in bed WAY too long this morning though. Got the woodshed ready for more wood and all the junk out. Cool!

Wednesday: Took Phillip & Matthew (friends of ours) out to the property to cut up some wood. Could bring only a truck full back. Phillip was so, uh, ungainly with the chainsaw that I did most of the cutting cause I was afraid he’d cut his leg off.

Thursday: Nice Hot Day. So I went out to the property and laid out in the sun and read for awhile. Brought a load of Phillips wood back with me. Made scetti for dinner

Friday: Had a 1000 meeting with Matt from Manke Lumber at the property so he could look at the pile of logs I have for sale. He was very effusive (is that the word I’m looking for?) in his compliments on my decision to cut the logs at the 40’ mark. Said he’d send me the handout of log rices and such (which I still haven’t seen) and maybe set up a pickup time for next Monday. Still haven’t heard from him. But that has shot my plans to rent a splitter Monday and split that pile of wood I have outside. After the meeting I came on back home and picked up SWMBO and we went to breakfast at FHP in Port Orchard. Then to COSTCO where we spent way too much money on "stuff." $153! Phew!

Today was another HOT day. I love it! And as usual I spent most of the day at the property moving rocks and dirt around. Added another log to the pile of logs for Manke. Laid out and read for awhile. When I came back I brought the last of the wood Phillip & I cut the other day and dropped it off at his house. Just been lounging around the house. Well, after making dinner. Folding some laundry. Burning some dvd’s.

And that’s it. Ain’t my life exciting!?! Hopefully, a thousand years from now some anthropologist will stumble on these old blogs (Blogs? What the hell’s a Blog?) and decipher them and publish them under the heading of "21st Century Man. It’s A Wonder He Didn’t Commit Suicide His Life Was So NORMAL." and make a zillion of their bucks and spend the rest of his/her life just ’chillin’.

Catch Up Time? Again?

Which would be great if I could remember what the hell I’ve been doing. It all kind of runs together…

Saturday: SWMBO took me to dinner at Taco Bell and to see “The Mummy: Emperor’s Tomb”. Movie was about an hour too long… The Gig Harbor theater is SO much better than the theater in Port Orchard. “The Mummy: Emperor’s Tomb” almost sucked. I thought that if they couldn’t use Rachel for her part then they should have killed her off or said she was busy somewhere else.

Sunday: First session of church. Stayed home as it was kind of cool. Finally cleaned my truck out. There had to be a half inch of dust in the thing. I can see the speedometer again! And there’s this little green light thingie that comes on when I press the cruise control button. Cool!

Monday: Labor Day. Mostly stayed home. Did get by Staples to see what they had “on sale.” Came home with a couple of 100 packs of blank DVD’s. Wasted a lot of the day watching/listening to the Dirty Job’s Marathon. You Go For It, Mike!

Tuesday: Spent a large part of the day out at the property cutting wood. I think I cut almost a couple of cords. Brought a load of it back home.

Today: SWMBO is off to her office as usual for a Wednesday. Architect dropped by to review the plans and we drove out to the property for a look-around. I stayed and moved dirt. Brought home a truck full of wood. Hurt my left leg somehow. Probably just getting old…

And that’s it. I think I’m caught up. Damn! It’s bedtime…

I don’t know who’s in charge of the programming at the Sci Fi Channel; but they suck. I volunteer to do a better job for them for half the bucks. They’ve canceled several good shows to put on some more of those terrible ’made for sci-fi channel’ movies. And how in the hell can they give us half a season of Battlestar Galactica and make us wait until sometime in 2009 for the rest? Think I’ll wait for the DVD.

ONLY 14 MORE DAYS UNTIL SEASON 8 OF SMALLVILLE! Y’all (All Y’all actually) need to update your calendars!

Things Been Fairly Normal Around Here!

But, my life is fairly normal nowadays. I finished pushing the dirt from the old “Dome Hole” last Monday. It took me only 3 days with that dozer I rented! Three days! (I’m gonna have to find before & after pictures and post them.) I moved a LOT of dirt and I moved it for about half what one contractor wanted to charge me. Cool!

Got home Monday evening and called Premiere Rentals to come out and pick up the dozer. (Jim?) said he’d have someone out there at 1500 Tuesday to pick it up. So, Tuesday I went on out to the property and ran up and down the road with the blade trying to smooth it out and make it a bit better. Had stopped by the gas station on the way in and filled 6 (SIX!) 5-gallon gas cans with diesel and poured them all into the fuel tank on the dozer. Damn! $150 for fuel! Damn! Remember when diesel was $1.50 cheaper than gas?… Anywho, 1500 came around and no one arrived to pick up the dozer. 1600. 1700. 1715 I left for home. Tried calling Premiere Rentals but their answering machine (if they even have on) obviously wasn’t on so that was that for the evening. All that waiting did give me time to clean as much dirt off the tracks as I could though.

Wednesday I had planned to stay home all day and get things done that I just haven’t been able to do what with going out and moving dirt. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work out that way. Called Premiere Rentals early and talked to (Greg? Craig?) and tried to explain that someone was supposed to pick up the dozer YESTERDAY at 1500 and I had waited until 1715 but no one had showed up and he cut me off with “We pick up those when we have a driver and equipment available.” I tried to say that I’d MADE PLANS that I couldn’t get to as I was waiting on THEM but he cut me off again. Said they’d get to it “When they could.” Fine. Give me a call when you’re ready cause I have to drive out to the property and take the chain across the driveway down and BRING THE KEY to the dozer with me. 1200 comes and goes. 1300 comes and goes. 1400 comes and goes. So I call them and get (Jim?) again. He said “Trucks leaving in 15 minutes.” Cool. So I drove out to the property and their driver (nice guy) showed up about an hour later and picked up the dozer. I drove back home but never did get everything done that I wanted to do…

Thursday: Went out to the property and drug the last of the logs to the bottom of the hill. (Gotta remember to call Steve and ask who he sells logs to…) Gave a neighbor a truck load of dirt. (After all, I have a butt-ton of it laying around.) Came on home and took SWMBO to COSTCO for soda’s and we ate hot dogs there. Both of us can eat a meal for less than $4. Cool. Home Teacher visited around 2000 for an hour.

Today: Had a 1000 meeting with the Architect to go over the house plans. He does good work! Gave us printouts of the plans to go over this weekend to be sure that everything’s where we want it. Cool! Took SWMBO to the Silverdale Mall so she could have one of her favorite sandwiches and we walked the mall for awhile. Stop by our site and check the plans out!

A week or so ago SWMBO had put a plastic water bottle of grape juice behind her seat since it tasted like it had “turned.” We had just left the mall and was driving through the parking lot of the Silverdale COSTCO when the damned thing exploded! No shit! It made a noise like someone had stuck a big-caliber gun through the window and shot one of us. Damned near scared the crap out of me! Because of the enclosed space in her car it sounded a lot like that dozer battery that blew up on me a couple of years ago. Funky smelling grape juice all over the place! Had a good laugh about it LATER. Except it screwed with my head for the rest of the afternoon. Guess it brought back too many feelings about some experiences during Desert Storm and that battery. Got over it though.

Still making time-lapse video’s of clouds and sunsets and then adding music to them with Magix Music Maker. You can check those out on MY site if ya want.

I think Summer is pretty much over up here…
